5 week class: January 4, 11, 18, 25 and February 1.
**Books will be provided.

The start of this new year presents us with the opportunity to refocus our attention on Christ, first and foremost. Our goal over the coming sessions is simple yet profound: to behold Jesus as He truly is, and to delight in Him with increasing joy. John Piper’s book invites us not merely to learn about Christ, but to see Him with the eyes of faith and to savor Him with the heart.

The Christian life begins, continues, and ends with the person of Jesus. Scripture repeatedly calls us to “behold the glory of the Lord” (2 Corinthians 3:18) and to “fix our eyes on Jesus” (Hebrews 12:2). Yet in the busyness of life—it’s easy for our vision of Christ to grow dim. This study is a deliberate turning of our attention back to the One who is “the radiance of the glory of God” (Hebrews 1:3).

John Piper presses two simple truths:

Seeing Jesus Clearly
We need a biblically accurate, awe-inspiring vision of Jesus—His deity, humanity, glory, humility, love, justice, power, compassion, and beauty.

Savoring Jesus Deeply
Seeing Christ rightly should awaken worship. Knowledge becomes affection. Theology becomes doxology. We were created not just to understand Christ, but to treasure Him above all things.

Piper’s aim is to help us “see and savor” the supremacy and worth of Jesus in fresh and life-changing ways, chapter by chapter. By the end of this study, our prayer echoes Piper’s: “That God would open the eyes of our hearts to see the glory of Christ, and that seeing, we would savor Him more than anything else this world offers.”
